Refunds
Types of refunds
Refunds are a way for a seller to return funds to a buyer if a sale doesn't go as planned. This can happen for various reasons, such as:
- the item being damaged,
- not as described,
- the item doesn’t arrive; or
- a minor difference between the item listing and the item received.
In these cases the seller can offer a full or partial refund.
Full Refunds
A full refund means you give the buyer their entire payment back — this can happen when the item is damaged, not as described, or doesn't arrive.
Once you confirm the return, the refund amount is taken from your available Depop balance (or charged to your connected top-up card, if you don’t have enough in your balance) and sent to the buyer’s original payment method
Partial Refunds
A partial refund is when the buyer keeps the item but gets some money back — often due to minor issues, like a small difference between the item listing and the item the buyer received.
Partial refunds are always agreed on by the buyer and seller, and they don’t require the buyer to return the item in order to be refunded.
